FULL TIME POSITION – SUMMARY:
Works as directed by department supervision to achieve daily production requirements and to achieve the goals set for safety, customer quality, and customer delivery expectations. Follows all company policies and procedures identified in associate handbook. Understand and adhere to all safety, quality and production company expectations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Transports finished goods, WIP, child parts and raw material to appropriate storage areas.
- Follows company policies and procedures as outlined in the Associate Hand Book.
- Upholds the 5S guidelines as set forth by the company standard.
- Follows all ISO/IATF standards that pertain to a production associate.
- Follows procedures established for using Plex to record production, downtime, scrap, or any other record defined by the production associate’s department supervision.
- Works collectively as a team to achieve work center, department or company goals.
QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Current Newman Certified Tow Motor License.
- Must be able to use a scan gun
- Plex knowledge, specifically inventory and customer shipping.
- Must be able to follow detailed instructions.
- Able to read, understand and apply work instructions.
- Understand and follow ISO/IATF standards.
- Must be able to work overtime, possibly with short notice.
- Be able to work in a fast pace environment while operating a tow motor safely and efficiently.
- Must be able to control inventory through the set procedures within Plex.
- Maintain safe driving record of less than 2 incidents per calendar year.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines including reporting of all accidents and near misses.
- Perform all tow motor checklists as defined by your department management.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- In a typical work day, the associate will be required to operate a tow motor for 8-12 hours.
- The associate will be required to routinely climb up and down from tow motor.
- The associate will be required to routinely lift and/or carry between 1-30 lbs., with a maximum of 40 lbs. (more than 4 hours per day)
- The associate will be required to routinely push/pull racks-containers full of parts
- The associate will routinely and repetitively use right/left or both hands for simple grasping, firm grasping and fine manipulation. (more than 4 hours per day)
- The associate will be exposed periodically to dust, fumes, gases and/or chemicals (between 2-5 hours per day)
- The associate will be exposed periodically to high noise levels and will be required to wear proper protection at all times.
- The associate must wear proper uniform at all times while performing their job assignment.
MERIT PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
Tow Motor merit is available to associates who are driving all company tow motor vehicles.
Associates who are directly related to a Delivery Trouble Report (DTR), safety violation(s) or damaging company property, could receive a suspension from the Merit Program according to the following steps.
1st offense – 90 days suspension of merit pay
2nd offense – 6 months suspension of merit pay
3rd offence – removed from the Merit Program all together and not permitted to drive a company tow motor.
Associates who fail to perform at the described guidelines, will be subject to Corrective Action, up to and including termination.
